I don’t watch a lot of short films, mainly because I dislike getting drawn into a story and then having no conclusion to it, like most shorts. They’re snippets of a much larger tale, and in most cases – ast least in my experience – it’s not enough to satisfy.

PostHuman, on the other hand, is clearly a small piece of a much bigger story, but it wraps up the bits it needs to so I’m not left feeling annoyed or frustrated. It’s won a ton of awards, apparently, and quite deservedly so. Here’s the synopsis:

Set in an adrenalized future of espionage, assassins, and out of control super science, PostHuman follows a genius hacker and his dog as they help an enigmatic young woman to free the remaining test subject of a black ops ESP test lab.

Plus, it’s just awesome animation, very reminiscent of parts of Heavy Metal and The Animatrix. Check out the 6-minute short below, but make sure to turn on 1080p. Oh, and it’s NSFW for violence and a little bit of nudity. Get links to more info after the jump.
