The idea for this blog is a simple one. It grew out of a fascination with travel and certain places I’ve been to, but also because there are so many places I haven’t been.

The idea for The Modern-day Hitchhiker came about because of some books I want to write on my experiences in Hawai’i, and my planned trips to Italy and the rest of the world. I’ll be publishing those later, maybe as soon as next year. It’s all about the interesting and fascinating people, places and things we all stumble across or visit during our daily lives, even if only in our dreams. I’ve been fortunate to have been to some amazing places and learned some truly awesome things, and for what it’s worth, I thought I’d share those, and whatever else I discover.

Oh, and I review movies, TV shows, and books here, too, because I think they’re interesting as well.

As for me, I’m a single guy living in the 4th largest city in the US – otherwise known as Houston. I’m an author, poet, movie- and dog-lover, and what some people would refer to as a Renaissance man. Although I just call it ADD. In my spare time, I run a publishing company as well, which you can find here.
